Safety
Always a primary concern, we were one of
Western Pennsylvanias first contractors to have a Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry Certified Workplace
Safety Committee. For several years, we have been recipients of
the Master Builders Association Certificate of Commendation for
achieving Safety Excellence for having an accident rate below the
national average for construction employers.
Our Safety Committee is composed of a representation of all facets of
the organization and meets regularly to monitor our progress and needs.
Foremen and journey persons are routinely instructed on safety
awareness and have direct communication to any of the Safety Committee
members for suggestions regarding our efforts and safety procedures.
Our continuing education classes have included: Asbestos
Awareness, Asbestos Mask Fit Tests, Confined Space Training, First Aid
& CPR Classes, Hazard Communications, and several OSHA Courses on
Construction Standards and Competent Person Training.
Ferry Electric Company is a drug free company with 100% of all employees including all office and all field employees particiapating in a structured 3rd party drug testing program complete with annual, random and for cause testing.
